Sounds good in theory, but I'm sure there's something wrong with it (The Scoop)

I know a few doctors read this blog, and I'm insanely curious to know what you think of e-mailing patients.

It does sound good in theory, but I'm sure the payment logistics could get sticky. Although it's not like those logistics are incredibly smooth now. Also, I agree with being a bit wary of e-mail liability. Would your responses mainly be, "I don't know, Mrs. Smith - I'll have to check that out in person" ? I would think that it'd take less time to tap out a quick answer than to actually see the patient in person for some things.

And for everyone else, doctor or not - how would you feel about having the opportunity to email your physician? How much would you pay for it? I myself don't find that I would have a lot of questions to email about; therefore I wouldn't mind paying upwards of $20 per transaction. Maybe for those who DO have a lot of questions, some sort of Frequent Questioner program could be set up :-)

I agree, there is something wrong with it. I'm not exactly sure what. . .but I wouldn't do it.
