Congrats on learning some new skills. I think PICC dressing is something that nurses could really use more information on.

Great story. I would have secured the PICC line too without thinking much about who took the dressing off. I worked on oncology for a while and got very good at starting IVs in impossible places. This was before PICC lines when veins got used up quickly with the recurring doses of chemo. At the time, patients were admitted to the hospital for chemo. and nurses mixed it on the wards. I shudder to think about it now.

Gina- Congrats on the new job! My mother has been working as a hospice nurse for the last year or so and even though its physically and emotionally TRAINING, she really enjoys the work (but mostly the people). On another note, I wanted to say thank you for the continued high quality content. I have been combing the nursing blog world for the past month or so looking for great nursing blogs. I sent you an email last week about profiling Code Blog as a TOP 10 Nursing Blog. I would love to profile your blog to our extensive network of nurses as a blog that they would relate to and learn from- or at least share the 'new job' journey with. I am looking forward to hearing from you to discuss this further. Again, thank you for all the great reading, and congrats! Best- Abbye Klamann (AKlamann@calcas.com)
