what does a nurse do when vile costaff actively and purposefully engaged to get rid of a RN? to add, they dinged my license. never killed anyone; never caused severe injury; never name-called or used abusive language; never passed meds in last few years (in this position it was the LPNs); never had a complaint from anyone except other nurses and techs. what does anyone do now? the investigation at the board hasn’t even begun yet. travel agencies won’t touch me with a ten-foot pole. i don’t drink or do drugs. i don’t do anything unethical or immoral. i don’t play computer games at work or send tons of chain letters or sexual or other types of letters on email (like my costaff). i focus on the patient and dedicate my working hours to the patient as able. i hate to cook and grocery shop so i don’t participate in the frequent potluck dinners at work (many of my costaff are more than obese via the bmi). i am not on prescription vicodin (like my former manager who chose to self schedule herself for all ot hrs and became my coworker.) i don’t yell and berate coworkers unlike, in one example only, one RN said to me (yelling), “shut the f… up!” btw this was in a psych area. i can’t tell you how hurt i really am…
I have been an Intensive Care nurse for 11 years. This blog is about my experiences as a nurse, and the experiences of others in the healthcare system - patients, nurses, doctors, paramedics. We all have stories!
